Analysis of Magazine Advert - Kings of Leon

The Kings of Leon Magazine Advert has a lot of the conventions that you would expect to see contained within a magazine advert that was promoting a album by a high flying artists such as themselves.

They are as follows;
  • Websites
  • Record labels
  • Name of Artists
  • Name of the Song/ Album
  • Buy it now website
  • Release Date

This magazine advert has used the following conventions as listed above. This gives the audience a sense of achievement that the artists are trying to portray, they are wanting the audience to be able to identify the artists/ album, without having to look at the name. This will not only make their digipak/ magazine advert stand out but it will also make the band themselves more memorable. This then enables the audience to be able to describe the album/ band effectively without thinking about it. Therefore the magazine advert has done its job, this magazine advert is very unique, it does not show a picture of the band, this is a very strange way of approaching a magazine advert that is promoting your band, but it is also very effective, making a statement such as this gives the audience a view that they can tell the album/ band apart from any ordinary magazine adverts.
